**Summary**
Under the direction of the Executive Director, and Project Director, the Community Engagement Coordinator worker has primary responsibility provide promotion and community engagement /outreach services to committed to engaging and developing young people (age of 17-25) of color, low-income Youth, and other non-traditional youth as researchers, advocates, storytellers, and agents of social change. The Community Engagement worker will work with a multidisciplinary team in providing a comprehensive service to communities in LA County.

**Essential Functions**
- Conduct outreach and promotion services in community-based settings and organized events
- Train and support youth leaders to develop and deepen political consciousness, assess and understand issues impacting their health and wellbeing,
- Build relationships and partnerships with youth and community supporters, and drive statewide and local community campaigns that mobilize supporters, create long
- term systems and/or policy change, and build power for future victories.
- Address alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and other drug prevention efforts through a strong public and community health framework by leading recruitment, training and implementation of campaigns led by youth from marginalized communities to utilize environmental prevention strategies focusing on addressing social norms, access, media messages, laws, rules and policies.
- Assist to organize, empower and mobilize youth and their communities facilitating community educational seminars.
- Identify, recruit, and retain youth and young adult campaign leaders supervise youth leaders
- Implement and manage youth campaign meetings; support assessments, support base building, and campaign actions determined by the youth leaders.
- Responsible for managing all of the logistics and functional tasks necessary for meeting the goals and objectives of the assigned campaigns, and for ensuring that the young people are experiencing high quality and culturally relevant leadership opportunities.
- Coordinator will work to support overall Los Angeles County campaigns, initiatives and staff, Prepare appropriate materials, collaborate with community partners, and develop and lead training for youth leaders and other campaign partners.
- Distribute educational brochures.
- Provide thorough and comprehensive documentation of services and notes.
- Develop and maintain community relationships with public and private organizations, both ethnic and mainstream.
- Availability to work some evening and weekend hours as necessary.
- Participate in monthly Team Conference and other contractors meetings and events.
- Responsible for all monthly paperwork, data gathering and project reporting
- Advocate for issues relating to and affecting the population served.
- Driving to and from meetings, and other events requiring travel throughout LA County.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director Manager and Project Manager.

**Secondary Functions**
- Work with program staff in maintaining a clean and organized working office environment.
- Translation of material (if applicable).

**Other Duties**:

- Work on other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Program Director and/or designated supervisor.

**Minimum Qualifications - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required**
- AA Degree; preferably in Social Work, Sociology, Public Health with a minimum of 2 years of work experience in social services or related profession;
- Knowledge of community resources related to population served
- Strong communications skill verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively with people, particularly with culturally/ethnically diverse communities. Work well with co-workers, and community members
- Strong writing proficiency and organizational skills.
- PC operations including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet.
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid CA Driver’s License, and the required automobile insurance coverage.
- Background Check and Employment Eligibility required.
- Regular attendance.
- Bilingual skills

**Non-Essential Qualifications**
- Ability to work overtime, evening, and weekends may be required.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
