Under general direction provided by the Chief Counsel and Assistant Chief Counsel, the incumbent will independently perform a wide range of highly complex duties regarding legal issues raised by the Department’s programs, focusing primarily on agricultural land and soil conservation and climate protection, as implemented by the Division of Land Resource Protection (DLRP). The incumbent focuses on unique conservation programs and practices developed by the Department in cooperation with other governmental entities. Provides support on complex and sensitive legal issues raised by the other Department divisions, such as California Geological Survey, Division of Mine Reclamation, and Division of Geologic Energy Management, and administrative services, including administrative hearings.

Working Conditions
