**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Program Aide to join our team at the Evergreen Adult Day Health Center. The Program Aide will play a crucial role in assisting with the daily operations of our center, providing support to participants, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Additionally, this role involves driving participants to and from the center, requiring a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the implementation of daily programs and activities designed to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of participants.
- Provide personal care assistance to participants as needed, including but not limited to feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance.
- Foster a supportive and engaging environment for participants by facilitating social interactions and encouraging participation in activities.
- Ensure the safety and security of participants at all times, following established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in program areas, including activity rooms, dining areas, and restrooms.
- Drive participants to and from the center in a safe and timely manner, following all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, activities, and any incidents or concerns that arise during transportation or at the center.
- Communicate effectively with participants, their families, and other staff members to address any questions, concerns, or special needs.
- Caring for participants enrolled at the center and participants with Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions.
- Emergency evacuation of participants if inclement weather (e.g. a hurricane) is threatened or if there is a power failure or other reason that the Center must close;
- Handling of emergencies en route until emergency assistance arrives at vehicle.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in healthcare or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience working with older adults or individuals with disabilities preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with participants, families, and staff.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor, with a genuine desire to enhance the quality of life for others.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be qualified in first aid and CPR.
- Ability to lift and maneuver equipment and assist participants with mobility as needed.
- Willingness to undergo background checks (CORI/SORI/OIG), alcohol and drug screenings as required by state regulations.
- Physical in the past 12 months and a TB risk assessment.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to assist participants with mobility and personal care tasks.

**Working Conditions**:

- This position primarily operates in an indoors settings
- Exposure to bodily fluids and potential exposure to infectious diseases.
