Director of Emergency Management

At South Shore Health, we come together to improve the health of our family, friends and neighbors by bringing together people, caregivers and excellence in medicine. We are seeking a **Director of Emergency Preparedness and Business Continuity **to join us in Weymouth, MA. In this position, you will lead the execution of all planning, mitigation, response and recovery aspects within an effective emergency management program for South Shore Health.
**Responsibilities**:
- Lead and oversee the planning, coordination, maintenance and updating of the Emergency Preparedness (EP) Plans for the main campus and satellite facilities
- Develop strategic direction for program, as well as identify and implement opportunities to enhance the program
- Oversee EP readiness education and training activities, including the execution of a minimum of two hospital-wide functional or full-scale exercises per year
- Oversee maintenance of emergency response systems and resources including the Employee Alert System, disaster supplies and other items
- Serve senior leadership role in EP internal and external task forces, committees and agencies
- Investigate, research and make recommendations regarding EP best practices
- Ensure that all regulatory standards for EP (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Joint Commission and others) are known and met
**Qualifications**:
- Experience leading a large, complex Emergency Preparedness program in a healthcare setting
- Completion of Massachusetts Department of Public Health ICS Training Programs
- Outstanding organizational skills and ability to delegate and effectively supervise others
- Ability to work independently and to accept responsibility for complex and sensitive decision-making
- Interpersonal relationship skills to work with many hospital-wide department heads, administrators and physicians in a positive and collegial fashion
- Ability to accurately and concisely disseminate information in both written and verbal formats
- Demonstrated expertise in project management
