**Position Summary**:
The Forensic Equity Supervisor is responsible for leading and overseeing measurement, alignment, and coordination with other units within BHJD to advance racial equity. The Supervisor is also responsible for overseeing the Continuous Quality Improvement Process, and cross-division engagement and relationships. This role focuses on prioritizing the operationalization of equity for the BH/CJ population through the social determinants of health and sequential intercepts, utilizing the prevention spectrum, and effectively mitigating trauma for the target population. The Forensic Equity Supervisor will work across the Behavioral Health and Justice Division (BHJD, DBHIDS, the Managing Director’s Office of Criminal Justice (MDOCJ), to maintain and expand innovator Stepping Up status. This role will supervise SDOH, housing, BHJD employee engagement, natural support, and literacy rand employment initiatives for the BHICJ population. The Forensic Equity Supervisor will also pay particular attention to methodologies to build cross unit rapport, identify and pursue retention funding, and create opportunities for staff.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Under the direction of the Forensic Equity Associate Director, the FEU supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, direction, support, and coordination to the overall day-to-day operations of FEU initiatives and programs.
- Coordinate the implementation of the Stepping Up Initiative within DBHIDST supporting BHJD and DBHIDS leadership, interfacing with cross-systems partners.
- Coordinating BHJD’s Continuous quality Improvement Plan, Process, and Metrics.
- Supervise implementation of the Racial Equity Action Plan, including coordinating with BHJD through the CQI process.
- Develop metrics for the Forensic Equity Unit.
- Explore targeting poverty, gun violence, trauma, environmental issues, and other pervasive issues that affect Philadelphians.
- Oversee outreach to agencies, organizations, partners, and stakeholders to conduct presentations, both in-person and utilizing online platforms.
- Research, examine, and evaluate the use of evidence-based practices with the forensic population throughout the system to meet the needs of individuals with SMI and reduce the likelihood of the return to jail.
- Work with Stepping Up Data Coordinator(s) to track and report on progress toward the goals of Stepping Up, conduct ongoing evaluation of programming implementation and impact.
- Develop and enhance reporting structure and practices with the BIT team.
- Support the development of programs and policies that advance the mission of Stepping Up in Philadelphia. The Forensic Equity Unit efforts to conduct fair and equitable hiring, prioritizing in-network staff considerations.
- Monitor and review progress of employment equity initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Forensic Equity Unit and BHJD to coordinate events with members and community partners as needed.
- Supervise staff and community input and engagement through forums, surveys, interviews, focus groups, courageous conversations, and other methodologies, either directly or through community-based participatory research.
- Oversee community engagement with grassroot community-based organizations.
- Collaborates with and supervises coordinator activities to ensure cohesive efforts by the Forensic Equity Unit.
- Collaborates with the BIT team and Research Associates to conduct research on the social determinants of health and housing and maintains a working knowledge of the latest findings and innovations in the public health field.
- Develops methods to collect, analyze, and report quantitative and qualitative data informed by the Stepping Up Initiative and Racial Equity Impact Assessments.
- Implements methods to bridge health and racial disparity gaps with BHJD’s resources and programming within day-to-day activities.
- Provide support as needed to other units as part of contingency planning.
- Assists the Associate Director with Forensic Equity Unit cross-training efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Skills Required**:
Demonstrated understanding of Philadelphia’s behavioral health system and Must possess knowledge and experience in working with community-based resources. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and work well with people without regard to race, religion, color, sexual preferences, age, national origin, disability, behavioral health status, military status or any other characteristic protected by law. Must have good, creative problem
- solving skills. Must have strong organizational skills and be able to work independently and as a team leader. Be flexible and adaptive in handling changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment; must be able to use computer to record services. Must be organized and able to coordinate multiple initiatives. Preference given for prior experience working with the criminal justice system.
