Responsibilities and Duties
- Handle both dogs and cats, including large breeds
- Cleaning and maintenance of kennels, general boarding areas, bowls, and kitchen
- Feeding, walking, and watering pets
- Administering medications
- Observe and report well-being of boarding patients
- Chart feeding, medication administration, and eliminations
- Monitoring for any abnormalities
- Keeping track of pets’ belongings
- Bathing pets, expressing anal glands, cleaning ears, and trimming nails
- Electronic recordkeeping
- Maintaining cleanliness of clinic
- Maintaining outside walking area
- Treating clients and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
- Work in a fast paced environment
- Assisting other coworkers and performing other duties as needed
Physical Requirements
- Lift patients and carry equipment up to 50 pounds
- Lift patients and carry equipment over 50 pounds with a partner
- Adequate stamina for a busy work day with lots of standing and walking
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
