**Responsibilities**:
**Here’s what to expect on the job**:
- Assist staff in defining and measuring behavior; understanding principles of reinforcement; teaching new behavior; implementing strategies for weakening behavior and identifying antecedents.
- Facilitate team meetings with the identified individual’s staff and parent/guardian for the purpose of completing a Functional Behavioral Assessment.
- Partner with other staff members on issues such as crisis intervention, learning and coloration issues, and factors that can affect development and implementation of interventions.
- Assist individuals in reaching goals and objectives as outlined within individual treatment plans, behavior management plans, and individual treatment programs through therapeutic interventions.
- Develop a repertoire of assessment strategies consistent with instructional goals, teaching methods, and each individual’s unique needs to more accurately assess behavioral skills and understandings.
- Provide direct observation of direct support staff and/or educational staff, providing feedback and further guidance as required and necessary.
- Maintain monthly and quarterly records, case notes, observation reports, data, and progress reports, as required by Agency policy, regulations, and standards of practice.
- Engage parents/guardians in the “behavior intervention plan” process and empower parents/guardians by providing them with skills and techniques to support positive behavior development.
Qualifications:
**Minimum requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree within a related discipline expected and 2 to 5 years of learning experience within a related professional discipline
- Or Master’s degree within a related discipline and 0 to 2 years of learning experience within a related professional discipline
- Knowledge of applicable compliance regulations (i.e., Chapter 51, 2380, 6400)
- Knowledge specific to the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism
- Developmental Planning and Goal Setting experience
- A valid driver’s license
- Access to vehicle with valid insurance, registration, and inspection
- Ability to communicate, read, write, and interpret English
