This is a 12-month position which is exempt and therefore not eligible for overtime pay under the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

**The responsibilities of the Family Engagement and Admissions Associate include**:
Family Engagement and Communication
- Respond to parent needs and concerns.
- Communicate/share opportunities and concerns to families.
- Serve as a point of contact for PSA leaders in coordinating, planning events and identifying volunteer opportunities for families.
- Support promotion of school events in English and Spanish.
- Support with translation of small documents for families
- Support planning and implementation of school-wide and campus events
- Coordinate Lower School Classroom newsletters
- Manage and draft the weekly family newsletter
- Manage the community closet for families with support from development team

Re-Enrollment (current families)
- Prepare re-enrollment information for families; assist families as needed with the re-enrollment process.
- Coordinate Capital City PCS’s Enrollment Saturday event and other extended hour sessions.

Admissions/Enrollment (new families)
- Manage recruitment fairs and other events including EdFest.
- Implement a plan for student recruitment, specifically for transition grades.
- Coordinate our presence at Edfest with staff & parent volunteers.
- Manage Open Houses for prospective families
- Serve as the primary point of contact for MySchoolDC (MSDC) and provide necessary information in accordance with submission deadlines to MSDC and to relevant Capital City staff.
- Be extremely knowledgeable about and strictly follow Capital City and MSDC recruitment policies.
- Manage student shadow days as needed.
- Manage student wait lists; provide information to administrators and front desk and office managers; make offers of admission in accordance with an approved plan.
- Verify sibling and staff preferences.
- Ensure all necessary documentation including residency is collected for new families. Follow-up with families as needed. Maintain an up-to-date record of submissions and enrollment status.
- Process & organize enrollment registration information returned by families
- Support the Compliance team prior to the enrollment audit to make sure all documents submitted are acceptable.
- Inform families of summer orientations

Front Office Support/Other Duties
- Provide back-up support as needed to front desk managers.
- Support all-school mailings.
- Verify familial relationships in SIS
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Family Engagement and Admissions



**Desired Qualifications**:

- Fluency in Spanish and English required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; 60 credit hours towards Bachelor’s degree desired
- Knowledge of resources and services available to families in Washington, DC
- 2+ years experience working with diverse families in an urban setting.
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends to support family events.
- Proficiency with Excel Google Suite, and databases
- Attention to detail to accurately collect, organize, and maintain data and information

In addition to the above requirements, staff members must meet the requirements of all hires at Capital City including a criminal background check.
