Director, Philanthropy - NorthShore Hospitals Foundation

This role is crucial to helping position Endeavor Health and NorthShore Hospitals’ key clinical areas and priority institutes to be more competitive regionally and nationally and have the resources needed to recruit the best and the brightest, while delivering the highest level of care possible and performing innovative research. Over time, this role will be responsible for helping generate, collectively throughout a team of front-line major gift officers, roughly $12M to $15M in new gifts and renewed commitments annually.

Position Highlights:
- Position: Director, Philanthropy- Location: Evanston, IL- Full Time/Part Time: Full Time- Hours: Monday-Friday, during normal business hours

What you will do:
- Partner with physicians and leaders in assigned clinical areas to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major donors ($20,000+) for priorities within NorthShore’s programs. Particular focus will be on increasing the number of six
- and seven-figure gifts, working in partnership with principal giving, planned giving, and corporate and foundation gift officers to create structured gifts of cash, assets and estate gifts as appropriate for each donor.- Partner with Foundation colleagues across the team to ensure donors of all levels and assigned clinical areas are thoughtfully engaged, stewarded and provided with exceptional giving experiences- Work with Operations team, physician partners, and other internal colleagues on vetting donor prospects to qualify and build pipeline and work through moves management portfolios.

What you will need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required- Certification: n/a- Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated success in progressively senior development/fundraising roles, preferably in a healthcare/medical research/academic medical institution- Unique or Preferred Skills:
- Exceptional written, presentation, verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds-
- Exceptional project management skills; fast-paced and results oriented with the ability to work in a timely manner with multiple deadlines and competing requirements-
- Proven track record of closing five
- and six-figure gifts and personal initiative required-
- Familiar with best practices in donor development, along with an understanding of emerging trends in philanthropy and fundraising-
- Works well in a highly collaborative environment-
- Ability to identify and nurture talent-
- Donor-centric mindset and approach, with strong commitment to customer service-
- Comfortable, flexible and adaptable in an entrepreneurial setting and building new programs in an emerging and changing environment-
- Confident and comfortable working in high-level stakeholder settings; poised and engaging communication style-
