We’re actively seeking a talented Underwriting Technical Director our Underwriting Team.

This role is 100% remote. You’ll stay connected to Pacific Life from your home office.

Determines whether to accept, modify or decline a risk through evaluation of an individual's medical history or physical condition, occupational hazards, financial background, insurable interest and other information pertinent to the decision. Consults with superiors or medical department concerning any questionable medical or personal situations. Has contact with the field force to gather information on which to base decisions. Has authority to approve cases up to specific standard and substandard limits.

**Complexity of Assignments**:
Requires specialized depth and/or breadth of experience to serve as expert in own area.

Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.

Applies functional knowledge and existing methodologies to solve complex problems and recommend best practices.

Takes a new perspective using existing solutions.

Progression to this level is typically restricted based on business requirements.

**Judgment and Supervision**:
Works independently, receives mínimal guidance.

Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

May lead functional teams or projects.

**Typical Qualifications**:
8+ years of experience

4 year degree or equivalent experience

**Base Pay Range**:
$136,440.00 - $166,760.00
