The Government of Québec operates thirty-seven representations worldwide with 9 offices in the United States including: Houston, Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Silicon Valley, and Washington D.C.
The **Québec Government Office in Houston **is responsible for developing and promoting economic relations between Québec and the South-Central region of the United States including Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The Office has the mandate to promote Quebec’s expertise and interests, and to facilitate business opportunities for Québec companies.
**Role description**:
Under the supervision of the Delegate and the Economic Director, the Commercial Attaché is responsible for the promotion of Québec’s economic interests in Houston. The incumbent will facilitate Québec’s business positioning in some priority sectors, such as, but not limited to aerospace (aviation and aerospace) and transportation. S/he will:
- Develop strategies and action plans geared to facilitate trade between Quebec and the U.S. in theses priority sectors and markets.
- Provide support to Québec-based companies, helping them develop business partnerships and land business deals in the U.S.
- Build strong relationships in these priority sectors with U.S. business leaders, trade organizations, high tech clusters, industrial associations, as well as relevant financial institutions, government officials, think thanks, and business media representatives.
- Advise the Delegate and the Economic Director to suggest solutions to trade problems, meet key contacts and identify trade opportunities and potential partners for Quebec companies.
- Monitor business opportunities, prepare economic and market analyses and briefing notes to support Quebec exportation to the U.S.
- Organize promotional and business networking events to raise the Quebec profile in key economic sectors.
- Attend and represent the Quebec Office at economic events and conferences, including occasional speaking engagement.

- **Bachelor’s degree**:
- **Three years minimum of relevant experience**:
- **Fluency in English and proficiency in French**:
- Strong and proven business development, sales and marketing skills.
- Ability to deliver significant business results.
- Working experience and strong network of contacts in key economic sectors, especially in Texas and surrounding states.
- Good knowledge of business operations and supply chain processes as well as US public procurement processes.
- Knowledge of the US / Canada economic relationships, trade policies and economic profile of Texas and south-central regions.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment**.**:

- Aptitude and willingness for teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to have hands-on and oversight responsibility for the organization of events and the agendas of high-level visitors.
