**PRIMARY PURPOSE**
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Medical Officer at Boston MedFlight, provide comprehensive, safe, and effective medical care to patients transported by Boston MedFlight.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES**
- Provide comprehensive, effective, safe care to any patient transported by BMF.
- Attend required staff and educational meetings.
- Maintain certifications and licenses as mandated by the position.
- Complete documentation (written and electronic) per BMF policy.
- Maintain positive communication (written and spoken) effectively while interfacing with fellow employees, consortium hospitals, and the community at large.
- Uphold and adhere to all BMF policies and procedures.
- Uphold safety standards as set by BMF, FAA, & contracted aviation vendor.
- Maintain clinical skill proficiency and knowledge base.
- Maintain a clean operational environment.
- Retrieve, stock and clean medical equipment.
- Report to remote location(s) for duty.

**POTENTIAL DUTIES**
- Data entry and clerical assistance.
- Public education and marketing.
- Unrestricted travel.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
- For nurses with a BSN: a minimum of three and a half (3.5) years of MedFlight-assessed high acuity full-time (or part-time equivalent) experience working as an RN,
- For nurses without a BSN: a minimum of five (5) years of total full-time (or part-time equivalent) nursing experience, with at least 3 years in a MedFlight-assessed high acuity area,
- Experience obtained in hospitals designated as a level I or level II trauma centers or recognized as tertiary care medical centers is strongly preferred.
- Massachusetts RN license required.
- National Registry and Massachusetts EMT certification required to complete orientation. Boston MedFlight will hire otherwise fully qualified nurses without EMT certification and will support them in obtaining the EMT certification during orientation.
- CCRN/ACNPC, CEN/CFRN/CTRN, ACLS, PALS, NRP and BLS certifications required.
- CFRN or CTRN will be required in lieu of CEN within 1 year of employment.
- Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
- Current driver’s license, valid passport and authorization to work in the U.S. required.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts.
- Must be able to read, speak, write and comprehend the English language without restriction. Five (5) years of continuous full-time experience as a BMF CCTS**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Class I employment physical required. Physical exams are performed by our occupational health provider.
- Capable of performing in cramped quarters and any type of weather condition.
- Must possess and maintain physical condition which allows running, climbing and carrying of medical equipment and lifting of patients.
- Height & weight requirement: In order to be eligible for employment, Body Mass Index (BMI) must not exceed 30 and/or the maximum weight for an individual crewmember must not exceed 210 pounds. Body fat percentage and frame size should be taken into consideration. Since a BMI of greater than 25 is considered overweight, it will be recommended that BMF transport staff who have a BMI that falls between 25 to 30 seek dietary counseling, this includes consultation with occupational health. Maximum weight and/or BMI is necessary for flight planning purposes to ensure safe operational aircraft performance.
- Able to stand erect from a squatting position while lifting 175 pounds between 2 people - agility testing will be monitored annually.
- Pass random drug screen as required.
- Ability to pass annual physical examinations and Fit-For-Duty Test
- Free of motion sickness or history thereof.
- Free of physical ailment which may impair consciousness or cognitive ability.

**NOTES**
FBI and Massachusetts CORI background checks will be performed prior to employment. CORI check will be repeated annually.
