The **Mental Health / Co-Occurring Clinician** is responsible for the delivery of mental health and co-occurring enhanced (**MH/COE) **case management and clinical counseling services to men in recovery **from SUD / Addiction AND Moderate to Severe Mental Health Conditions** while reintegrating into the community and returning to social, vocation/employment, and/or educational roles. Goal-oriented clinical services are provided in conjunction with onsite medication management to support stabilization and development of skills necessary to achieve recovery.

**Job description** of what you will do:

- Act in accordance with Hope House, Inc.’s Standards of Excellence & Philosophy Care at all times, including maintaining professional ethics, boundaries and client confidentiality and working from a strength-based perspective using evidence-based practices (MAT, MI, CBT, etc.)
- Ensure that all services are delivered in compliance with Federal and State regulations, agency standards, contractual requirements.
- **Treatment will be trauma responsive and address the intersection between trauma, mental health, and substance use disorders.**:

- Treatment services will include treatment planning, clinical interventions, milieu-based therapy, and family outreach and support when appropriate.
- This **MH**/**COE Counselor will provide care coordination activities (particularly related to the search for housing, at the beginning of treatment), including, but not limited to** identifying community resources, i.e., housing, employment, dental, educational/ vocational services, legal/justice related case management, recovery supports, behavioral health clinical services, and pharmacological services for mental health and addiction.
- Obtain signed consent to coordinate all aspects of client treatment.
- Provide supportive and empathic individual and group counseling sessions to clients on a weekly basis, and as needed throughout their stay at the program.
- In a thorough and timely manner maintain effective **documentation and record keeping**. A **clinician **must complete an initial biopsychosocial clinical assessment using the six ASAM Dimensions to gain an understanding of addiction severity, co-occurring mental health issues and trauma, physical health issues, family and social supports, housing stability. The initial assessment must conclude with an ICD / DSM diagnosis. The individual treatment plan, must include clinical, psychosocial, and recovery goals, as well as a crisis and/or safety plan; re-assessment; progress notes; referrals and appointments; consent forms; data collection and aftercare / discharge planning.
- Provide information and referral services to clients that must include linking clients to primary care, mental health, Family Support Services (FSS) and other support services. Provide Information and Harm Reduction referral to clients, including linking clients to various types of Medication Assisted Treatment Services (MAT) provided in the Community.
- Develop, implement, and facilitate/co-facilitate assigned psycho-educational groups that include, in part, the nexus **between trauma, mental health, and substance use disorders **and complete required documentation.
- Conduct intake, screening, and admission of new clients upon request of a supervisor.
- Discuss treatment plans with clients and review in clinical meetings weekly.
- Communicate effectively with the treatment team and any other individuals or agencies involved in the client’s treatment.
- Provide milieu coverage as needed, including: monitoring and assessing the integrity of the program’s therapeutic milieu; empowering clients to act in accordance with the guidelines of the program; assisting clients in self-administration of medications; conducting controlled medication counts; other client needed services.

**Qualifications you MUST meet to be considered for this position**:

- **Suggested minimum AT LEAST an LMHC or a LCSW;** or a **master’s degree** in one of the following disciplines: clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, social work, AND who has a MINIMUM OF ONE YEAR OF SUPERVISED SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELING EXPERIENCE.
- **Preference for an LICSW, an LMHC, a LCSW or a** **LADC-1, **with a suggested minimum of two year’s work experience in the field of addiction/SUD treatment and/or mental health. Residential treatment a plus.
- Experience working with priority populations (substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders).
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of the treatment team.
- Ability to relate to clients in an instructive, supportive, and compassionate manner.
