The Workforce Opportunities Program is an individualized service program that caters to those experiencing income and housing insecurity. Individuals joining our program are actively looking to change their circumstances and be a part of a supportive community. The purpose of this program is to help participants in our dining rooms and interim housing communities with the following:

- Find livable wage jobs.
- Create or update a resume.
- Get connected with on-the-job training programs, certifications, education, and skill building programs.
- Get connected with external Workforce Development programs.
- Obtaining workplace uniforms/ equipment for qualified individuals
- Housing navigation
- Removing all other barriers to end homelessness.

**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Workforce Supervisor, the Workforce Case Manager will act as a bridge to ongoing services, an advocate for guest needs, and an assistant to the removal of barriers to progress for guests in the dining rooms. The Workforce Case Manager will assist in mapping out plans and access to services and support for program participants This person will also act as an advisor for Workforce Opportunities Fellows. Guidance includes linkage to identified available services, development of detailed service or case plans, and ongoing monitoring of guest progress.

**Specific Duties**:

- Ensure that complete and accurate electronic records of guest encounters are generated within 24 hours of interaction using the HMIS database
- Obtain intake demographic and current needs information from dining room guests
- Monitor guest care plans, goals, and service referrals to ensure engagement
- Work with volunteers and dining staff to obtain guest information and needs
- Engage team members in joint problem solving
- Connect to and manage established relationships with community partners and employers who assist our guests to find and retain employment
- Seek new partners with shared mission and values to assist our guests with obtaining and maintaining self sufficiency
- Provide supervision, support, direction, and engagement to Workforce Opportunities Fellows
- Establish HMIS data entry and documentation standards for dining room guests
- Offer help to team members when able; ask for help when needed
- Share ideas on how the dining room team can continue to improve and provide the best possible customer service to our volunteers and program partners
- Model skills and assist team members to verbally de-escalate guests as needed
- Coordinate incident intervention with other staff and security when needed
- Appropriately document and inform leadership of any incidents or concerns
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and agency events as requested or required
- Performs any other duties assigned by the Workforce Supervisor
- Participate in and serve as a model for SVdP’s Culture of Philanthropy, and ensure SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated *
- _Volunteer engagement and appreciation, as well as Culture of Philanthropy participation are part of all job descriptions at SVdP, and a very important part of the organizational culture and values_

**Required Skills/Abilities**:

- Excellent communication, organization skills, and ability to interact with guests, staff, and volunteers required.
- Related experience working with vulnerable populations, volunteers, and staff in a temporary shelter environment preferred.
- Knowledge of available community support and services is beneficial and will be shown preference.
- Strong computer skill, proficiency with Microsoft Suite programs, experience in HMIS, and excellent electronic communication and documentation abilities preferred.
- This position may require transportation of clients to connect with services. 39-month motor vehicle record will be required.
- Ability to report to more than one work site is required.

**Education and Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach and lift up to 50 pounds are required for this position
- Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate orally and in writing required.
