**Job Overview**

The Purchasing Supervisor is responsible for supporting purchasing function of the hotel. Although working with the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Supervisor will work particularly close with the Accounting and F&B team to maintain superior quality control of F&B product and maintain the procurement system. Other functions include ensuring the highest quality of all hotel products is received in a timely manner, maintaining inventory on all general merchandise, and working with department heads to manage approved expenses within budget parameters.

The person having this position must possess good communication skills, and have a thorough understanding of LINE policies, procedures and expectations.

Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each

employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**
- Must be courteous and gracious, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times
- Establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel
- Work closely with the Purchasing Manager to ensure all product is received and invoiced correctly
- Responsible for quality control of all LINE Austin goods and products
- Ensure all F&B products are delivered to the appropriate departments in a timely manner and communicating discrepancies
- Assist with orders, costing, transfers, and credits relating to the F&B department
- Work closely with departments to maintain accurate and complete inventories to be submitted by the first of every month
- Must establish and maintain exceptional relationships with vendors, purveyors and farmers
- Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
- Maintain “open door” communication with coworkers
- Assist in controlling operating expenses through effective communication with the Purchasing Manager
- Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
- Attend relevant meetings

**Reporting Relationships**

Reports directly to: Purchasing Manager

**Knowledge, Requirements and Skills**
- Three (3) years’ related experience in the hospitality industry
- Hospitality related technological proficiency required
- Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Word, in particular)
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to multitask
- Work well under pressure, requires being a team player

**Working Conditions/Environment**

1. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

2. The person having this responsibility may have to lift up to 30lbs on an occasional basis

3. The person having this responsibility may have to lift trashcans weighing up to 150lbs. Anything over 50lbs is a required team-lift.

4. The person having this position may have to sit for eight (8) hours, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for three (3) hours per day
