In-house Estimator

Overview:
G.E Construction is seeking an experienced Estimator with commercial construction experience to join our team. As an In-House Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by accurately estimating costs and providing valuable insights for project planning and execution. If you have a strong background in construction management and estimating, we invite you to apply.
**Responsibilities**:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to determine accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Prepare detailed take-offs and quantity surveys for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to generate accurate cost estimates
- Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry professionals
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project scope and conditions
- Ensure compliance with project timelines and budgetary constraints
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality
- Provide support during contract negotiations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the commercial construction industry (5 Years Minimum)
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles, practices, and techniques
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
