Position Summary:
Responsible for packing beef, pork, lamb, veal, and seafood products accurately and tastefully while also meeting customer specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Packs products in an accurate and timely manner.
- Follows company standardized pack specifications along with any customer specified deviations as communicated through special instructions via work orders/cut tickets.
- Accurately reads and comprehends all customer specific special instructions.
- Performs Quality Control checks and communicates with supervisors and managers any defects.
- Inspects meat products for defects, bruises, or blemishes.
- Obtains and distributes products to appropriate pack lines.
- Weighs meats and tags containers with weight and contents.
- Effectively completes tasks to reduce processing costs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Must have ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Must be able to work independently or within a team environment.
- Solves routine problems of limited scope and complexity following established policies and procedures.
- Must have working knowledge of production equipment.
- Must be able to understand and follow all Food Safety Guidelines and Occupational Safety Guidelines.
Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive **auditory warning** signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
