As a **Healthcare Representative**, you will interview and advocate for patients and their families to obtain maximum benefit coverage in a hospital or healthcare setting.

This position is full time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime, holidays and weekends. Our office is located at Jackson North Medical Center - 160 NW 170th St North Miami Beach, FL 33169.

We offer 8 weeks of paid training. The hours of training will be based on your schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Interview patients in a hospital setting and work effectively with hospital personnel to assist patients with obtaining maximum benefit coverage
- Review medical records and take all necessary actions to expedite benefit approval
- Adhere to company and legal standards regarding Protected Health Information (PHI), Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Personnel Transaction Identifier (PTI)
- Maintain ongoing communication with government agencies regarding the status of claims
- Provide updates and assistance to hospital personnel and other Change Healthcare staff as needed
- Maintain documentation of status of claims and client contract on Change Healthcare and/or hospital computer systems
- Willing to work in a fast-paced hospital or healthcare environment

**Required Qualifications**:

- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent experience
- 1+ years of Customer Service experience within a hospital OR healthcare environment
- Bilingual fluency in English / Creole OR Spanish
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Previous experience communicating with patients & staff with various educational & socio-economic backgrounds
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time between local healthcare facilities
- Ability to work at Jackson North Medical Center, 160 NW 170th St North Miami Beach, FL 33169
- Ability to work during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime, holidays and weekends as needed
- Must be 18 years of age OR older

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of federal and state programs that will benefit coverage for clients

- Prolonged periods of standing and walking in hospital facilities
- Adherence to facility masking requirements at all times

This position requires ACHA Level II Background checks (fingerprinting) by the State of Florida for all Clinicians that have face-to-face contact with members and will require renewal every five years.
