**Reimagine What’s Possible**
At La Porte, our liquid hydrogen unit was commissioned in 2021 to better serve our existing customers and expand our capacity to meet the needs of new customers. The Air Products La Porte site also has an ASU/LHY and HyCO facility. At our LHY Unit, has an IMMEDIATE opening for a Loader/Operator position.
**_ Reimagine What’s Possible_**
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Operate unit equipment via DCS
- Follow Site Work Instruction Manual and Job Safety Analysis procedures
- Perform troubleshooting on equipment
- Assist in reviewing and updating operating procedures as required
- Maintain an electronic logbook of LHY unit operational activities
- Solving plant process upsets using various indicators and DCS trends in conjunction with console operator
- Calibrate/Operate multiple analyzers
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks
- Maintain online training program requirements
- Issue safety work permits and perform lock out / tag out of various process equipment
- Inspect all work areas on a continuous basis for any mechanical problems, safety hazards and unusual operation conditions. Keep work and supply areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition
- Ensure that all plant safety, environmental and quality procedures are followed
- Attend and contribute to monthly safety meetings
- Fill Trailers
- This is a Safety Sensitive Position
**Required Skills / Abilities**:
- Basic computer proficiency and software knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Previous operations work history and/or military experience
- Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience a plus
- Ability to read/understand piping and instrumentation drawings a plus
- Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems
- Desire and ability to work in a team environment
- Valid and clean driver’s license
**Physical Requirements must be able to**:
- Climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Meet call-in/on call requirements as needed
- Elevated work required
- Work in all weather conditions
**Education and Licensing Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Process Technology certificate or degree a plus
**Work Hours & Benefits**:
- Ability to work shifts rotating from days to nights.
- Willing to work holidays and weekends
- Meet call-in/on call requirements as needed
