East Boston Social Centers, Inc. is a non-profit multi-service agency, serving culturally diverse families and individuals of all ages in East Boston, Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop and throughout Greater Boston. We provide fully licensed and accredited childcare for children ages two months through six years of age in our Early Learning Programs and five years (K2) through thirteen years in our Out-of-School-Time Programs. In addition, we offer free At-Risk Teen After-School programming, a School Age Summer Program, nutritional, social, and recreational programming for the elderly; and community space for numerous advocacy, self-help and community groups.

**What We Need**

East Boston Social Centers is seeking individuals for the position of Out of School Time (OST) Group Leader. General responsibilities involve running an after-school classroom of school aged children, including but not limited to: independent group leadership, consistent monitoring of children and their needs, curriculum planning, and collaboratively facilitating activities. The OST Program is looking for motivated individuals, preferably ones interested in gaining experience in the education/childcare field. This position requires relationship-building, collaboration skills, and the ability to efficiently complete assigned tasks.

**Job Duties**

The responsibilities of the OST Group Leader, include but are not limited to:

- In collaboration with Directors and other Group Leaders, design and implement program lesson plans, activities, and projects for school-aged children. These activities are centered around academic enrichment and whole-student growth.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity, learning, and fun.
- Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all children under your care. Follow all Early Education and Care (EEC) Guidelines and Protocols.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- In cooperation with other Group Leaders and Directors, chaperone field trips during school vacation weeks and the summer months.
- Additional Responsibilities as deemed necessary by the OST Directors.

**Job Requirements**
- High School Diploma or higher; coursework in education, social or human services, child development, or related field is desirable.
- Experience working in a child care or educational setting preferred.
- Bilingual/Multilingual (strongly preferred)
- Experience working with underserved and underrepresented communities
- Experience working with diverse populations (strongly preferred)
- Excellent organizational and coordination skills
- Must clear Department of Early Education and Care’s Background Record Checks (i.e. CORI, SORI, DCF, etc.)
- Availability to work Monday-Friday from approximately 1:30-5:30pm (hours may vary based on BPS school calendar and summer program).

**Compensation and Benefits**
Pay for this position starts at $17.50/hour and increases based on prior experience and completed coursework.
