Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager

**THE POSITION**:
**DESCRIPTION OF WORK**:
- The responsibilities of this role include analyzing the maintenance needs of a specific region by assessing the condition of highways, negotiating for necessary resources such as manpower and equipment, and identifying critical requirements for the area. Additionally, you will need to assess the performance of subordinate foremen in executing planned tasks and intervene if adjustments are needed to achieve set goals. Furthermore, this position will be tasked with evaluating the proficiency of the subordinate staff members and providing suggestions for training programs and development opportunities to enhance their overall performance. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to make strategic decisions to ensure the successful completion of maintenance functions within the region.

**Work Schedule and Additional Information**:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for Alternate Work Schedule (AWS) upon successful completion of probationary period.
- **Salary**:_ _**In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.
**REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY**:
**Q**UALIFICATIONS**
**Minimum Experience and Training Requirements**:
- One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1;** or**:
- Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects; **or**:
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
**Special Requirement**:
- This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
**Other Requirements**:
