**ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY**:
The Department of Mental Health Law and Policy (MHLP) is one of six departments/schools in the College of Behavioral & Community Sciences (CBCS) and department faculty are integral members of the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute (FMHI). The department promotes academic excellence by providing leadership and opportunities that enhance manpower development and personal growth in a fully engaged learner-centered environment. The mission of the department is to promote the health and quality of life of people with mental and substance use disorders by creating, evaluating, disseminating and translating state-of-the art knowledge to support effective practice across behavioral health and criminal justice systems.

A Program Planner/Analyst is a professional who promotes, develops, coordinates and/or evaluates programs and services provided by an established USF program to meet the needs of a community or group served by the program. The Program Planner/Analyst participates in the management of resources and the delivery of services to clients, development of promotional materials, workshops and informational sessions, and the analysis and evaluation of program effectiveness. This position serves as a liaison between community and university partners to support the overall mission of the institute, center or program.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Conducting literature reviews on topics related to behavioral health
- Report writing, review, and editing
- Creating, revising, and maintaining our Microsoft Access databases used for our Center operations
- Updating our Baker Act Reporting Center website in USF's Content Management System (CMS)
- Periodic review and updating of our Canvas staff training site, which includes tracking compliance with our required training and Level II background checks
- Performing other duties as assigned.
**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**:
**MINIMUM**:
- This position requires a bachelor's degree in a field directly related to program responsibilities and at least two years of professional experience related to the responsibilities of this position.
- FLBS1310 equivalency: four years of directly related experience can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.
- Education and/or work experience for projects with a social science focus, such as behavioral health, psychology, sociology, and criminology/criminal justice
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
**PREFERRED**:
- Knowledge of law and policy related to involuntary treatment in Florida, such as the Baker Act (F.S. 394, Part I)
- Experience using Microsoft Access, including tables, queries, and forms, for data entry and coding
- Data entry experience
- Graphic formatting abilities, such as the creation of figures and graphics for reports
- Experience with USFs Content Management System (CMS)
**Other**
- Please note that this position will require working on-site in the MHC building of USF's Tampa Campus for most of the weekly work hours.
