Our company is looking to hire a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). We’re looking for a hard-working and passionate SLPA who is knowledgeable about proper diagnosis techniques and treatment strategies for communication impairments.

At Empower, SLPA’s play a vital role in our network. This job description is a guide to assist you in being successful and growing with Empower. While most tasks are outlined below, there are times that tasks could change or be modified. The SLPA will provide speech and language supports to the clients at Empower clinic locations and at home-based therapy as needed. Work is primarily clinic based. Duties may include but not limited to:
**Essential Functions**:

- Screens, and treats Patients under direction of SLP.
- Communicates with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.
- Establishes measurable goals and develops treatment plan to move the patient toward their maximum level of independence and/or function.
- Responsible for assuring patient safety.
- Completes all documentation per timeline outlined in department policy and as required to optimize patient care and flow.
- Interprets and communicates evaluation findings and treatment program to patients, family, and other team members.
- Collaborates and supports plan of care as determined by the physician and healthcare team; treats patients accordingly as approved by the physician and SLP.
- Maintains patient records that reflect patient treatment.
- Participates as necessary in patient care conferences and Rehabilitation and Care Coordination meetings.
- Participates in in-service training programs.
- Records clinical documentation according to accepted regulatory, corporate and professional guidelines.
- Records daily treatments and labor per department and company procedures.
- Establishes and instructs caregivers in patient specific maintenance programs.
- Meets established productivity targets.
- Adheres to the Empower Code of Conduct.
