**Duties**:

- Performs mutual quality control checks on the work of fellow Specimen Controllers on a daily basis.
- Responsible for performance of technical and administrative support functions necessary for successful unit mission accomplishment.
- Performs a wide variety of detail-oriented technical and administrative duties in a narrow specialty area of a scientific field.
- Uses a computer, in support of the specimen accessioning and handling.
- Functions include, but are not limited to specimen handling and storing, laboratory operations, administrative and logístical support.

**Requirements**:
**Conditions of Employment**:

- Laboratory and individual certifications are a requirement of the forensic laboratory.
- This position requires the incumbent to frequently lift and carry item weighing up to 15 pounds.

**Qualifications**:
**Who May Apply: US Citizens**
- **Specialized Experience**:One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing a computer to record, store, and retrieve medical information; 2) Sending customer inquiries to the appropriate personnel; and 3) Taking inventory of specified items to ensure accuracy of reports.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
- You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
- Chemistry
- Communications
- Technical Competence

**Education**:
