CWC provides short-term and long-term residential services to assist people living with intellectual disabilities in acquiring the personal skills needed to reach their highest potential. This position will typically work Monday-Friday with daytime hours. We offer a team-oriented atmosphere and a focus on work-life balance. CWC also has a 24/7 fitness center, free parking, and is on the Madison Metro bus route.

**Position Summary**:
As the Communication and Policy Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, managing and improving communication systems related to key Center initiatives focused on improving awareness of and compliance with policies and procedures, improving employee engagement, and creating a workplace culture which incorporates shared governance, employee feedback, and accountability. In addition, you will:

- support functions of planning, performance management, and organizational measurement, innovation and improvement to ensure that the Center achieves its mission and vision.
- coordinate and lead communication related quality improvement activities using accepted methods for evaluating, managing and improving organizational communication strategies, including developing performance measures, presenting leadership summary reports, and facilitating organizational review of policies, projects, indicators, and outcomes.

**Salary Information**:
The starting salary is between $35.75 and $40.00 per hour (approximately between $74,400 and $83,200 per year), depending on experience, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month trial period is required.

**Job Details**:
All applicants who may be appointed to this position will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled.

All appointees will be required to receive a TB test, which will be administered by CWC or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.

**Qualifications**:
Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:

- Experience with policy analysis or development (e.g., creation, improvements, recommendations, etc.).
- Experience leading or coaching teams to complete projects or initiatives.
- Experience utilizing facilitation, communication, problem-solving, and collaboration techniques or strategies.
- Experience drafting summary recommendations and writing reports.

Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:

- Experience with project or program management (e.g., setting objectives and strategic plans, developing project plans, monitoring project progress, implementing quality improvement strategies, managing change, etc.).
- Experience teaching, training, or creating educational materials.
- Experience interpreting and evaluating information to identify patterns and essential issues.
- Experience collecting and analyzing qualitative data to guide strategies or provide recommendations.
