**JOB SUMMARY**: Programming, operating, and maintaining generators, SCADA, AMI, SONET, GIS maps, and additional equipment.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Performs configuration, troubleshooting, and programming of microprocessor-based devices (PLCs / RTUs / Meters)
- Operates and maintains generators, SCADA system and support functions.
- Performs configuration, troubleshooting, and programming of IOT device data communications protocols used in the electric utility industry.
- Performs configuration, troubleshooting, and programming of geospatial mapping systems.
- Performs wiring installation and troubleshooting for controls and communications systems as necessary. This will involve AC and DC circuitry.
- Operates and maintains pumps, motors, hydraulics, gas, and diesel engines.
- Operates a monorail crane, forklift, and backhoe.
- Troubleshoots pneumatic, hydraulic, and lubricating systems.
- Monitors SCADA system.
- Performs building and grounds maintenance and activities at the Electric Department, substations, and Hydro Plant.
- Produces and maintains drawings and schematics with CAD.
- Responsible for RTU, Meter, PLC programming and maintenance.
- Administrates AMI, Advanced Metering Infrastructure.
- Troubleshoots fiber, serial and ethernet communications.
- Conducts all work safely in accordance with standard work practices and safety standards.

**Job Title: Utility Technician**

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS**:

- Must establish and maintain residency within 20-mile radius of Peru city limits within six months of hire date.
- Must have valid Illinois driver’s license and Class A CDL or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
- Ability to lift a maximum of 100 pounds, work at heights, or confined spaces.
- Ability to read ladder logic, P&I diagrams, and schematics.
- Must be a team player.
- Must be mechanically inclined.
- Tolerance for working in adverse weather conditions, or other unusual conditions.
- Possible swing shift in flood stage or during emergency generation.
- Ethernet Networking and Serial Communication knowledge
- Familiar with IOT devices programming and data communications protocols used in the electric utility industry.
- Associate degree in Electricity, Electronics, or equivalent.

Pay: From $35.50 per hour
