We are looking for a dynamic Registered Dietician to join our team. The Renal Dietitian’s primary responsibility is to provide medical nutrition therapy to assigned patients in the dialysis clinic and home dialysis settings to promote their optimal health and well-being.
**This position is PRN and will work about 5 hours per week. The position requires some onsite and telehealth visits with hours being flexible that can be on evenings or weekends.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Educate assigned new patients on prescribed renal diets.
- Review lab results, dialysis adequacy, fluid weight status, and nutrition concerns with assigned patients on monthly basis, and educate regarding appropriate nutrition related changes.
- Document monthly nutrition progress notes in medical record.
- Monitor critical labs, notify MD, RNs and document interventions.
- Provide any additional counseling per request.
- Monitor need for oral supplements, enteral or parenteral support, and facilitate initiation.
- Make recommendations regarding nutritional related medications as appropriate.
- Participate in monthly Patient Care Conferences.
- Teach Nutritional Classes as requested for patients and staff.
- Verifies accurate charges and documentation are submitted in a timely manner. Comply with Dialysis facility policies and procedures for infection control, safety, and quality.
- Responds appropriately and aids in emergency situations. Necessary staff to remain onsite for evacuation needs of any patients as set forth by Administrator and Dialysis RN Manager.
- Regularly communicate throughout day to plan, confirm, coordinate, and organize patient care.
- Assists in quality measures, i.e., audits, infection control compliance, accreditation preparation, etc.
- Inform Administrator and Medical Director of all incidents, conditions, problems, counseling regarding teammates, patient care, or facilities.
- Monitor patient labs and dialysis adequacy for accuracy in collection.
- Perform nutritional assessments on all assigned patients.
- Work overtime as needed and commit to on-call and rotating shifts as needed.
