The Division of Adult Institutions is seeking to fill an Education Director position, located in the DOC central office building at 3099 E Washington Ave, Madison, WI. This position may work remotely up to 60% of the time, or 3 days per week. Position Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of the Office of Program Services, Division of Adult Institutions, this position provides statewide leadership and direction for educational programming and curriculum development for adult education programs and offender employment. This is accomplished through the development and implementation of programs at the state, institution and local community levels in cooperation with the Department of Public Instruction and the Wisconsin Technical College System. This position also has responsibility for education program analysis, program and staff evaluation, staff development and training and oversees the development of new educational programs.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 81-02 with an annual salary of $79,000 - $105,726 plus excellent benefits. An add-on amount may be available based on credits earned from an accredited technical college, college or university over and above those needed for basic certification. Pay on appointment for current state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan, Wisconsin Administrative Code, and statutes. A 2-year Career Executive trial period is required.
Job Details
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

**Minimally qualified applicants will have all**: Experience implementing and updating curriculum and/or educational programs Auditing and evaluating educational programming for compliance with federal and state law Performing supervisory duties (i.e. assigning, evaluating, instructing, directing, motivating, training staff etc. Developing and administering policies and procedures for an educational program
Developing budgets for education and related programming Researching and requesting external funding sources such as grants
Special Requirement
Must possess or have eligibility to possess a License as an Administrator by the Department of Public Instruction
