**Job Overview**:
As a Transporter/Sitter, you are an integral part of the patient care team. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the transporter/ sitter sits with patients to provide a safe environment for individuals who need constant observation. The sitter will provide basic care needed for activities of daily living and diversionary activities.
**Qualifications**:
- Required:_
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association only
**Certifications and Licenses**:
- BLS certification through American Heart Association
**Scheduling Requirements**:
- Nights 11:00PM - 7:30AM
- Schedule during the week will vary depending on department needs
- Full-Time (37.5 hrs)
- Mandatory Orientation
**Essential Functions**:
- Responding to call lights
- Transporting patients
- Making beds and stretchers
- Cleaning rooms
- Participation in patient related activities
- Maintaining therapeutic communication with patients including the supervision of patient interaction with family members
- Provides supportive intervention as required
