**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Quality Control Inspections**: Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- **Testing and Analysis**: Perform various tests on products, including physical, chemical, and sensory evaluations, to verify quality attributes.
- **Process Monitoring**: Monitor production processes to ensure they are operating within established parameters and that products meet quality standards.
- **Documentation**: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections, tests, and other quality-related activities. Prepare reports on quality issues and trends.
- **Non-Conformance Management**: Identify non-conforming products or processes, initiate corrective actions, and follow up on resolution. Work with production teams to address quality issues.
- **Hygiene and Sanitation**: Ensure that the facility meets hygiene and sanitation standards. Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- **Compliance**: Ensure that all quality control activities comply with relevant regulations, including FDA, USDA, and other regulatory bodies.
- **Continuous Improvement**: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, process efficiency, and overall operational excellence.
- **Training**: Assist in training production staff on quality control procedures and best practices.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent required. An associate degree in food science, microbiology, or a related field is preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role within a food manufacturing environment.
- **Knowledge**: Understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, SQF) and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) is a plus.
- **Attention to Detail**: Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and inconsistencies in products.
- **Problem-Solving**: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues, develop solutions, and implement corrective actions.
- **Communication**: Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- **Physical Requirements**: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in cold environment.

**Working Conditions**: This position involves working in a food manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to loud machinery, **cold temperatures**, and strong food odors. The Quality Technician may be required to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, to support production schedules.
