**Essential Functions**:

- Collaborate with the Director of FYE in the implementation of First Year residential. Programming including workshops and events in conjunction with FYE academic goals.
- Together with the other RDs, facilitates program planning before FSY Residential Life Staff and FSY students arrive.
- Train, supervise, and evaluate RAs and desk assistants.
- Advise, confer, and offer appropriate support and referrals for students who exhibit academic and personal concerns.
- Provide regular and timely support for the residence hall association by regularly attending meetings and hall programs, maintaining regular contact with officers, and ongoing training for leaders and members.
- Communicate, educate, and provide an appropriate response to student concerns and behaviors, including crises, behavioral concerns, and student conflicts. Adjudicate minor College policy violations using restorative justice practices.
- Prepare all required reports, records, and evaluations promptly and accurately as assigned.
- Regularly participate in campus events, including speakers, programs, and late-night and weekend campus events.
- May provide safe transport for students to and from College events utilizing campus vehicles.
- Supervise 3-4 Resident Assistants and 1 community assistant - including staff selection, training, and evaluation.
- Implement the student development programming for the residence life community.
- Responsible for staff development and meeting planning, including creating weekly agendas and presenting RAs with professional development opportunities through their student leadership roles.
- Assist with crisis intervention and conflict management, including mental health incidents, roommate conflicts, student conduct, and staffing issues.
- Advise the Building Residence Hall Association (RHA).
- Assist with the room assignment and selection process.
- Assist with developing and implementing policies, procedures, and activities for residential students.
- Ensures the residential students' safety and security by closing with the Facilities Manager and Campus Safety.
- Talk to students who are in crisis or distress, referring them to Counseling Services when appropriate.
- Facilitate conduct reviews with students alleged to be violating college policy and determine educational sanctions for students deemed responsible for violations; Serve on college committees.
- Assist with the development and operation of summer camps and conferences, including but not limited to preparing keys, room assignments, occupancy reports, check-in, and check-out procedures, submitting maintenance requests, and acting as a liaison between Residence Life and conference contact persons; and Be aware of, understand, and follow all college policies.
- Be highly visible, maintain office hours, and participate in a rotation of on-call responsibilities for the Office of Residence Life. The on-call duty rotation includes holidays and is required when we have any students residing on campus.
- Complete collateral assignments and duties as assigned by the Chief Student Affairs Officer, Director of Residence Life & Student Conduct, or his/her designee. Collateral assignment can include but are not limited to: Serving as the point person for the administration of RA training (Fall and Spring), overseeing the RA selection and Recruitment process, In-service Training and RA Professional Development.
- All Residence Life Team members are expected to serve as a positive role model and communicate any conflicts of interest to the Director of Residence and Life and Student Conduct.
- Perform other essential functions and related duties as assigned.

**Administrative Responsibilities**:

- Will oversee the RA programming model, budget requests, and training budget.
- Will oversee the creation and implementation of hall-wide and large-scale RA program initiatives.
- Will submit a monthly report and building updates to the Director of Residence Life & Student Conduct.
- Will be responsible for administration and processes at the front desk, including RA desk schedule, sign-in/out procedures for guests and equipment, approval of overnight guests, and other front desk issues that may arise.
- Will be responsible for compiling assessment data for all RA and hall programming efforts and reporting to the Director of Residence Life & Student Conduct each semester.
- Will hear conduct cases, as assigned by the Director of Residence Life & Student Conduct
- Will collaborate with campus offices and community partners to implement special projects for students and RAs in the Halls that positively contribute to their development.
