Our goal is to promote a heightened sense of health, well-being, and comfort. The Fitness Studio, locker rooms, Jacuzzi, steam rooms, and saunas are complimentary to all our overnight guests. We also offer spa passes and monthly memberships. We have three restaurants: Eighteen95 Restaurant, Armory Lounge, and Garden Café in the summer months as well as our Ironside Whiskey Bar. A beautiful Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portland's Old Port District.

**Summary**:It is the responsibility of the Spa Desk Coordinator to assist Spa guest needs in a timely, professional and reasonable manner; and to provide quiet and efficient service at all times. A guest’s needs can be far ranging, and a desk associate must use his/her discretion in making common sense decisions to help guests. This position requires professional judgment and initiative when assisting guests with their needs. Ask for assistance from your supervisor when needed.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:Include the following: (Other duties may be assigned, as needed.)
- To check work schedule each week and report for all scheduled shifts on time and in complete uniform and with name tag on.
- To count cash drawer prior to each shift.
- To properly execute Spa Reservations and Spa Sales, and to properly maintain our Member Database via our Spa Software.
- To check in and assist all Fitness Members and Spa Guests. Responsible for contacting appropriate personnel for services requested.
- To properly enter and process all Spa Charges according to protocol and to keep accurate record keeping of services provided and products sold.
- To promote and sell memberships, products, gift certificates and other services.
- Must have knowledge of all packages, services, prices, V.I.P’s, and spa products. Responsible for the knowledge of current and expired promotions and gift certificates.
- To deal with all guest requests and/or complaints in a professional and knowledgeable manner and seek assistance of a member of upper management when necessary and/or available.
- To perform opening and closing duties including accurate cash drops and closing paperwork.
- To maintain cleanliness of The Spa at all times, and to perform regular Spa Runner duties including handling dirty linens in a sanitary manner wearing gloves. Clearing dirty dishes, filling ice, stocking clean laundry and glasses, etc.
- Responsible for basic Jacuzzi maintenance and general upkeep of the fitness center.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

**Qualifications**:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential job duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. **Mathematical Skills**:Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, and to calculate percentages. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
**Other Skills and Abilities**:Requires the ability to comprehend computer and multi-line phone skills.
**Certificates, Licenses, Registrations**:None required for this position. Adult CPR and Basic First Aid are recommended.
**Education and/or Experience**:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**Language Skills**:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Level 2, intermediate English.
