:
- Master’s degree in Early Childhood
- New York State Teaching Certification Birth-2 OR N-6
- 2 Years Teaching Experience in Preschool Settings Required
- Previous experience in Early Childhood and Special Needs Education.
- Demonstrated experience in program management, including staff supervision, assessments, and prior experience in Head Start programs.
- Understanding of Head Start philosophy, Head Start Performance Standards and DOH Regulations;
- Experience with Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies, Gold Assessment System.
- Demonstrated ability to meet program requirements while placing the needs of children and families first.
- Commitment to multicultural programming.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written or verbal format to groups of all sizes and individuals.
- Strong organizational, communication and supervisory skills.
- Language proficiency in spoken and written English and Spanish and/or English and French preferred.
Description: The Education Manager will be responsible for the overall management, supervision and evaluation of the Education and Special Needs Services in the Bronx Head Start program. This position is responsible for working closely with staff, parents, service providers, and community partners to ensure the effective delivery of curriculum, special needs services, and achievement of program outcomes.
