RTS is a great organization to work as a Development and Marketing professional. The cause is relevant, the need is growing, and the stories of impact are compelling. Your involvement will increase our ability to preserve affordable housing and neighborhoods, and improve the quality of life for vulnerable Sacramento area residents.

RTS understands the connection between a healthy home and neighborhood and the quality of life. Home improvements enhance health, safety, efficiency, and curb appeal. RTS also improves 1-2 nonprofit facilities per year to support the neighborhoods and residents. The work is performed by employees, contractors, volunteers, workforce development students, and service program members.

***: The Development & Marketing Manager will contribute to the growth, leadership, sustainability, and overall strategic direction of the organization. This employee will assist in executing a plan to:

- Reach those in need of the services
- Boost brand awareness and recognition
- Attract new supporters and participants
- Inform and recognize donors and sponsors
- Engage constituents
- Secure in-kind donations and services
- Maintain, expand and diversify funding opportunities

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (70% of the position on average)**

Oversee activities that generate financial, human, and in-kind resources to achieve organizational goals.

**Grant and Sponsorship Management**
- Conduct prospect research, develop, and manage grant opportunities.
- Write grant proposals and supporting documents.
- Monitor grant compliance, tracking, and reporting.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with new and existing funders and partners.
- Coordinate recognition activities.

**Individual Donor Management**
- Manage an individual donor cultivation and stewardship program that includes annual appeals, giving events, recurring donors, etc.

**Tracking and Evaluation**
- Utilize Salesforce to track, measure and report marketing and resource development performance.

**Special Event Support**
- Support fundraising event committees, such as Top Golf, and assist in raising sponsorships, selling tickets, managing event logistics, promotion and recognition
- Lead fundraising efforts such as Big Day of Giving, etc.

**Volunteer and Contractor Resources**
- Support the program staff by developing relationships and coordinating outreach to recruit skilled and unskilled volunteers, and contractors

**MARKETING AND OUTREACH (30% of the position on average)**

**Client Outreach**
- Develop and implement a client outreach plan that ensures services reach a diverse population and are accessible to those in need, through mail, networking, tabling events, etc.

**Website and Media**
- Develop and upload website content, and oversee website maintenance.

**Media relations**
- Develop and manage media relations for special events, general promotion, client outreach, etc**.**

**Collateral Management**
- Design and develop marketing, coordination and distribution of electronic communication, marketing and recognition collateral, annual report, event signage, etc.

**Photo Management**:Oversee the storage, use, and distribution of photos.

**OTHER**:Some administrative and other tasks are required to accomplish the duties listed above. Responsibilities may be revised, removed or added, as needed.

**DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND TRAITS**
- Three to five years’ experience in resource development and marketing, preferably at a 501c3 nonprofit organization.
- Proven success with developing and executing a plan to cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, and sponsors for a nonprofit.
- A strong network of local relationships, contacts, and resources or the ability to establish and maintain a network.
- Experience working with volunteers to accomplish resource development and organizational goals in a nonprofit environment.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
- A demonstrated ability to draft effective funding proposals, grants, social and print media content, and marketing materials.
- Ability to effectively prepare and deliver presentations, participate in media interviews, and, represent the organization in the community.
- Demonstrated project management abilities that include identification of key tasks, assignment of responsibilities, and monitoring project implementation.
- Proficiency in web content management, social media, and other e-marketing tools
- Ability to utilize technology for basic graphic design, presentations, and social media.
- Experience working with vendors such as graphic designers, printers, etc.
- Some knowledge/experience and understanding of issues pertaining to those who are low-income, underserved and disadvantaged, and members of vulnerable populations.
- Culturally competent with an understanding of diverse cultures
