The Molecular Laboratory Accessioner is an integral member of our laboratory operations team, providing essential support to facilitate the delivery of high-quality molecular diagnostic services.
**Responsibilities**
- Receive, label, and accession incoming patient specimens according to established protocols and procedures.
- Verify specimen information for accuracy and completeness, ensuring proper documentation and chain of custody.
- Prepare specimens for analysis by centrifugation, aliquoting, and sorting as necessary.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and reagents, replenishing as needed to support daily laboratory operations.
- Collaborate closely with laboratory technologists and supervisors to prioritize workload and ensure efficient sample processing.
- Adhere to laboratory safety guidelines and quality assurance standards at all times.
- Assist in other laboratory tasks and projects as assigned by management.
**Qualifications**
- High school diploma or equivalent (required) additional training in a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting, particularly in specimen handling and accessioning, strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with molecular diagnostic techniques and laboratory instrumentation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or similar software.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and confidentiality in handling patient information.
- US work authorization (required).
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
