Assist Payroll Administrator with the duties associated with payroll and payroll processing.
**Examples of Duties**:
- Essential Responsibilities:_
- Data entry into the payroll system, such as employee deductions and employer contributions
- Reconcile payroll deductions and invoices to employee deductions and employer contributions
- Assist departments/employees with payroll questions and issues
- Process bi-weekly payroll and other types of payroll, when necessary
- Other duties as required
**Typical Qualifications**:
- Minimum Education and Experience:_
- High school diploma or GED required and at least one year payroll processing, accounting, or related experience preferred and at least two years of experience working in an office environment.
- Licenses and/or Certifications:_
- None
- Knowledge:_
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook or related software
- Quarterly and Annual Reporting of Payroll Taxes and W-2’s
- Garnishments, Child Support Orders, and Tax Liens
- Reporting Requirements of the Virginia Retirement System
- Skills:_
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
- Strong time-management and multitasking skills
- Abilities:_
- Ability to deal with all levels of the organization
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of all payroll information
