We are seeking a Lead Housing Intake Specialist who will be responsible for processing and monitoring intake activities which includes; selections from the statewide waiting list, screening applicants, determining eligibility, briefing on rules and regulations and voucher/certificate issuance for MTW, HCV, PBV, Targeted Programs, MRVP and AHVP. Other responsibilities include program integrity and quality assurance for all applicant files. Provide training and supervision to intake staff. The position supports the mission and objectives of the Rental Assistance program through the delivery of professional and knowledgeable services to the community.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Provide leadership and supervision to Intake Staff responsible for selection and determination of eligibility.
- Assist with program orientation and on-going compliance training for Intake staff and ensure that the staff are kept current on policies and procedures related to program expectations
- Ensure intake staff meet performance threshold set by DHCD in collaboration with the Director of Admission and Leasing.
- Collaborate with housing providers to provide applicants on owner maintained or DHCD waitlist with affordable housing.
- Track and monitor voucher status of Section 8 and Special Program applicants.
- Maintain basic knowledge regarding housing inspection requirements and procedures.
- Responsible for tracking and monitoring identified intake trends for reporting purposes and proactive activity.

**Qualifications include**:

- High School or Equivalent
- Prior relevant experience required
- Willingness to work as part of a team to promote the goals of the agency and program
- Ability to motivate and ensure professional development of staff
- Desire to work with low-income, culturally diverse, vulnerable families and individuals
- Excellent customer service, organization, interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
- Proficient with Windows software and comfort learning new software and data collecting systems
- Experience in administration of rental subsidy programs and knowledge of social service providers.
- Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Demonstrate the ability to comprehend and work within program regulations
- Must be able to pass a Background Record Check, including fingerprinting
- Must complete Rental Assistance specific trainings/certifications within one year anniversary of hire. These include but not limited the following: EIV, Fair Housing & Reasonable Accommodation, and HCV Certification
- Knowledge of federal and state rental assistance programs regulations
