Pathways Manager for The Pathways to Partnership

**Work Responsibilities**:
Assist as needed to teach the Pathways to Partnership curriculum to middle school students with disabilities and transitioning high school students in the Valley View School District.

Coordinate all phases of the Pathways to Partnership Program to ensure the team is implementing the project according to protocol.

Finalize and implement the curriculum.

Attend the advisory group and update DRS on current staffing trained on the efficacy of the IPPP model.

Host internship program for participants seeking competitive integrated employment.

Commitment to promoting competitive integrated employment for people with disabilities.

Engage local employers to develop a pipeline for participating students to have access to internships, apprenticeships, and other pre-ETS such as work-based learning experiences.

Link participants with additional supports to maximize independence and success in post-secondary education or Competitive Integrated Employment.

Work with the IPPP team to collect and analyze data.

Using IPPP-developed protocol, cooperate in data collection in connection with program evaluation activities and submit quarterly and annual reports in a timely manner.

Represent Disability Resource Center in meetings, engagements, and/or community affairs in a positive, professional manner that helps to promote the Center’s mission and support the cause and needs of persons with disabilities.

Maintain a high level of visibility within DRC’s two county service areas so that coordination and opportunities for persons with disabilities are at an optimum.

Attend and conduct networking activities with other agencies, service providers and organizations to ensure that consumer needs are being met.

Attend Vocation Rehab trainings and meetings to provide quality services to students and families.

Meet with students and their families on a regular basis.

Insure the Center is represented at fairs, expos, open houses, forums, etc., in order to make the community aware of the services offered by the Center.

Work with other area Centers for Independent Living as a liaison for the program.

Be available for community presentations on DRC’ s mission and services and the IL philosophy.

Maintain a working relationship with other community organizations by serving on committees, boards, etc., as assigned to insure the independent living philosophy is represented.

Maintain required job skills and core professional competencies.

Attend and actively participate in required educational programs and staff meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Associate or bachelor’s degree in education preferred or proven successful work in a related field.
- Direct experience working with people with disabilities or personal experience with a disability
- Previous experience in social work, counseling, or other related fields
- Must believe in and act in accordance with the Independent Living Philosophy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Ability to build rapport with students, family, and school staff.
- Strong leadership qualities

**Unique Job Functions**:
Ability to travel within Will County and Valley View School District.

Ability to work weekends/evenings as required.

Direct experience working with persons with disabilities or personal experience with a disability. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply. Acceptance of the independent living movement/philosophy is required.

**Schedule**:
Monday to Friday, Hours: 9-5, may vary from time to time.
