1. Review work queue, and verify no-fault/workers’ compensation status by revising patient’s medical chart notes to update Guarantee Account Type.

2. Review EPIC Interactive Face Sheet to verify accuracy of patient’s demographics and check list is green.

3. Check HAR and Guarantor to ensure that insurance information is correct. If IP, and health insurance was allocated, complete notice of admission (see IV Unit Standard Workflow), and remove account from the HAR. If ED, remove account form the HAR. Complete investigation for no-fault or workers’ compensation carrier.

4. Interview patients, patient’s contact(s), police precinct, patient’s employer, patient’s attorney at law, and any other third-party as required if there is no-fault or workers’ compensation claim information on file.

5. Use all necessary resources including media manager, chart notes, HHS Connect, health insurance portals, Google, 411, etc., to retrieve as much information as possible to complete account efficiently, accurately and timely.

6. Complete additional forms such as Medical Narrative Report for workers’ compensation, and NF-5 for no-fault accounts.

7. Document all communications and findings in HAR notes.

9. Consult with Senior Hospital Care Investigator regarding difficult accounts.

10. Defer accounts based on the no-fault/workers’ compensation standard workflow.

11. Complete and send daily accounts logs daily to Senior Hospital Care Investigator and copy all relevant parties.

12. Attend weekly huddles, other departmental meetings, and trainings as required.

13. Complete Grant Study daily and submit it at the end of the month to Senior Hospital Care Investigator.

14. Conform to established time and leave regulations and policies; provides proper notification for absences and tardiness.

15. Display professional conduct at all times towards patients, families, visitors and co-workers including being courteous, respectful, sensitive to socio-cultural, age, sexual orientation, etc.

16. Present appropriate appearance in accordance with department policy; observes established dress guidelines.

17. Wear required identification while on duty.

18. Follow corporate, hospital, department regulations, policies and procedures.

**Minimum Qualifications**:
1. A Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university; or
2. An Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university; and completion of a certificate program in medical
billing; or
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and completion of a certificate program in medical
billing; and two (2) years of full-time experience in interviewing, investigation, or a related field, such as credit and
collection follow-up or bookkeeping, or as a customer service representative providing comprehensive customer
service entailing the dispensing of information or listening to and resolving customer’s concerns, problems and
complaints or troubleshooting; or
4. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent; and four (4) years of full-time experience, as
described in #3 above; or
5. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to (1), (2), (3) or (4) above. College education may be substituted
for experience on the basis that thirty (30) semester credits are equivalent to one (1) year of experience. However,
