We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Services Assistant to join our team. As a Social Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing support and assistance to individuals and families in need. Your responsibilities will include supervising, coordinating services, and providing resources to help improve the overall well-being of our clients.
**Duties**:
- Conduct assessments and interviews to determine client needs and eligibility for social service programs
- Develop and implement individualized service plans for clients
- Provide crisis intervention and support during times of emotional distress or emergency situations
- Collaborate with other social service agencies and community resources to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Assist clients in accessing housing assistance programs such as Section 8
- Coordinate childcare services for families in need
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to empower clients and promote positive change
- Provide workforce development support, including resume building, job search assistance, and interview preparation
- Offer mentoring and guidance to individuals navigating the child welfare system
- Assist with crisis management and intervention as needed
**Experience**:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred
- Previous experience in social services or a related field is highly desirable
- Knowledge of social work principles, practices, and ethics
- Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies and techniques
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
