Under the direction of the Department Manager, the role of the Patient Support Services Supervisor position is to perform as a unit HUSC in addition to providing supervision of the Davis 11 Hospital Unit Service Coordinator III’s (HUSC), the Volunteer staff, and managing the unit’s time keeping, scheduling, meeting minutes, ordering supplies, stocking, scanning, environmental of care, and general administrative support and duties as assigned by the Nurse Manager.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of such education and experience in a hospital/trauma setting.
- American Heart Association (AHA) BLS CPR or UCDH-issued CPR Certification within 3 months of employment and maintain current CPR Certification thereafter.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Skills to supervise an administrative and/or para-technical team and to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Supervisory skills related to recruitment, organizing, scheduling, assigning work, training, evaluating work performance, and implementing counseling, discipline, and corrective actions.
- Strong knowledge of patient care support activities, systems, external regulations, and internal policies.

**Department Description**

The Trauma Nursing Unit is a 36-bed acute care specialty and telemetry unit that provides inpatient care and treatment for Trauma Surgery, Acute Care Surgery, Burn Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, General Medicine, and other patients. The unit provides care to adults with a variety of medical surgical needs, including but not limited to, intra-abdominal blunt and penetrating injuries, complex wound management/burns, orthopedic fractures, head/neck/face injuries, brain and chest trauma, and chronic medical conditions.
