**SUMMARY**:
Reporting to the SVP-Chief Credit Officer, this position works closely with the SVP-Chief Credit Officer partnering with analysts and lenders and other Commercial Credit/Administration officers/supervisors for the day-to-day assignment of work/pipeline management, and general oversight and management of the commercial credit analysis and portfolio analysis functions.

Periodic travel is required to meet with assigned staff and occasional site visits. Position is based in Marlborough with supervised staff located in Marlborough and Ayer as well as remote/hybrid.

After successful completion of training and proven abilities, this position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, consistent availability is expected during core business hours and agreed upon number of days per-month on site.

- Together with SVP Chief Credit Officer and other Credit/Administration officers/supervisors, works with credit analysts, lenders and others to efficiently manage ALL components of credit work in underwriting and approval process making evaluative judgments to determine priority of requests and assignment of requests to analysts according to business needs, criticality of request, and experience levels.
- Partner with lending team and analysts to develop or refine loan proposals to ensure proper loan and deal structure for credit approvals, keeping the best interests of the bank in mind and when considered appropriate directly participate in calls with existing or prospective clients providing credit perspective and expert analytical counsel.
- Performs as needed, and oversees assigned staff regarding, the in-depth financial analyses and projections, including “what-if” scenarios that test the reasonableness of projections provided and constructs predictive performance when not provided.
- May request from borrower or contact other parties to provide relevant financial or other documentation or services required to facilitate the commercial lending process.
- Assists others department members and/or loan officers as needed regarding loan documentation/closing/booking processes to ensure that all terms and conditions have been incorporated and met.
- Assists lending officers and administrators as needed with construction or other loan advance requests and monitoring.
- Reviews or oversees others in the review of existing loan files as part of relationship reviews to ensure the completeness of the file.
- Prepares, oversees, or provides support as assigned by Management in the preparation, follow-up, and management of various asset quality and portfolio monitoring reports, including but not limited to, Loan Maturity and Expiration Reports, Watch List, Delinquency, Allowance for Credit Loss, Exceptions to Policy, Concentration Reports and property inspections.
- Assist when appropriate in the management of problem loans, delinquencies, regulatory requirements, and audits or other such department, regulatory, or bank requirements.
- Remain informed of local and national economic, financial, political and legislative events and climates, which could have an impact on the Bank’s loan portfolio and lending activities, particularly those related to the commercial portfolio.
- Understands changing market conditions and remains knowledgeable of relevant industry issues in order to ensure compliance in the areas of job responsibilities, and recommend improvements or changes as needed for compliance and/or for department efficiency.
- Establish, promote, and practice strong collaboration efforts within the department and with the various lending business lines as well as all other employees and customers of the bank, to further grow and enhance the quality of the loan portfolio.
- Ability to effectively work independently, with colleagues, and/or in teams, on multiple analyses and/or other tasks or projects, appropriately managing priorities, time, and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently and within established timeframes.
