At RTS Tactical, we take a meticulous approach to design, engineer, and produce only the finest body armor and tactical gear. Our products are designed and manufactured using state-of-the-art materials and technologies - setting a standard for functionality, durability, and reliability.

The industry is constantly advancing to better, lighter, and more reliable protection. Our Design and Development Department aims to lead the forward development and integration of emerging technologies.

In light of our recent successes, RTS Tactical is expanding and we are seeking a highly motivated, adaptable, and innovative Prototype Sewer to join our team

**Who We Are Looking For**

The Prototype Sewer will be working on the next level of tactical gear protection for our proud Men and Women in Uniform. He/She will join our energetic and thriving Design and Development Department and work directly with our CEO for all product development projects.

We are looking for someone with advanced sewing skills and comprehensive experience in creating prototypes straight from a TechPack. Experience in Military, Law Enforcement, or the Defense Industry is a strong preference. However, enthusiasm and the willingness to learn the industry speaks volumes

**Responsibilities**:
Create samples and prototypes of ongoing design projects straight from design briefs and TechPacks while maintaining the fit, form, function, and specification of the product.- Work together effectively with our Design Team to conceptualize and execute tactical initiatives and creative ideas, and to resolve any issues with the execution of the prototypes.- Cut and sew samples and prototypes accurately using proper machinery and tools, and clarify discrepancies in TechPacks, noting updates as needed.- Determine estimated raw materials and fabric usage for every design project.- Create technical drawings, graphics, layouts, and other visual elements of products and accessories using CAD, Adobe, and other relevant design tools.- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new design tools and techniques.- Proactively seek feedback and implement improvements in design work.- Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure that all prototypes meet the company's standards and specifications.- Address and rectify any issues or errors promptly.- Participate in weekly company meetings and relentlessly follow up with team members for project success.- Cooperate with other departments, including Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, and Marketing.- Occasionally, develop relationships with real-world end-users for their input and feedback on product directions.- Provide weekly updates to the Management Team.

**Skills and Qualifications**Education in Product Design, Apparel Design, Industrial Design or a related field or equivalent work experience. (preferred)- 1-2 years of experience in sewing operations using industrial sewing equipment and methods in a production and/or manufacturing company. (required)- 1-2 years of experience and strong proficiency in creating prototypes straight from design briefs and TechPacks. (required)- Advanced sewing skills, strong attention to detail and precision in sewing techniques. (required)- Competent understanding of pattern making and cutting.- Ability to interpret the designer’s intentions into a working sample and prototype.- Knowledge of design principles and aesthetics, apparel construction, and ability to identify different types of fabrics and fibers and its appropriate usage.- Ability to create TechPacks and utilize design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.- Ability to rapidly communicate ideas through 2D drawings.- Analytical thinking skills with an enthusiasm for problem-solving through design.- Independent thinking and working abilities, but can easily adapt to a team approach.- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.- Organization skills for proper maintenance of files.- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.- Ability to comfortably work in an environment that involves firearms.- Must pass a background check.

$35k-$65k
