The primary objectives of the GSM team are to work with critical suppliers and internal teams to improve Return on Investment for the business through impactful supplier management activities. The GSM team is also focused on mitigating risk, improving supplier performance, and driving Amazon's sustainability and diversity goals through supplier partners.

Our Global Procurement Organization (GPO) manages the procurement lifecycle of complex projects necessary to support Amazon’s growth and customer commitments. This work includes initial project planning based on Amazon’s Plan of Record (POR), development of sourcing strategies, supplier approvals, qualifications for scope of work, the solicitation of firm pricing proposals, and proposal analysis, review, and acceptance, culminating in issuance of Amazon Purchase Orders (POs) for services. Post-PO, our team serves as a critical resource resolving start up escalations and supplier issues and existing FC’s, partnering closely with Category teams.
