**Summary**:
A comprehensive writing center and an independent academic unit in LSA, the Sweetland Center for Writing is guided by commitments to equity, anti-racism, and linguistic justice in its support of student writing at all levels and in all forms and modes.

**Mission Statement**:
**Responsibilities**:
Courses relevant to this position include Writing 160 (Multimodal Writing), LSWA 125 (College Writing), and LSWA 130/230 (Writing and Arts), as well as weekly hours in Sweetland's Writing Workshop.

Please note: All Lecturers new to Sweetland are expected to attend an orientation (time and date to be determined) and a unit retreat on August 21, 9a-3p.

**Required Qualifications**:
MFA or Ph.D. and demonstrated excellence in and commitment to teaching writing to undergraduates.

**Desired Qualifications**:
Ph.D. or terminal degree in a relevant field. Experience in one or more of the following areas: multimodal writing, first-year writing, writing center pedagogies, creative writing or other forms of creative expression, and/or digital literacies (for example, video composition, multimedia collaborations, etc.).

This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
