Qualifications -Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a maintenance position. -Nursing home experience required. -HVAC certification strongly preferred. -Must be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints. -Must be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations. -Must be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc. -Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Responsibilities -Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities. -Develop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures. -Assist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
- Review the department’s policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator. -Coordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.). -Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department. -Assist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
