**Salary**: 50K

**BASIC FUNCTION**

The Lobby Greeter at Erie Elementary Charter School is responsible for the safety and security of Erie’s property, personnel, students and families. The lobby greeter is the main point of contact for the building safety. Additionally, the Lobby Greeter creates and maintains a positive and professional environment and supports the administrative team to ensure that the building runs smoothly, safely and efficiently.

**JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES**

- Communicates with administration on students and building safety concerns
- When interacting with students uses and model positively framed language, aligned with Responsive Classroom along with other positive behavior reinforcement strategies
- Responsibilities_
- Ensure safety of our building by limiting entryways to school buildings. Clearly mark the main entry to the school and post signs on other entries redirecting visitors to the main entry. Check periodically to make sure the doors haven’t been tampered with or propped open. The periodic inspections should include windows too.
- Monitor the school parking lot
- Monitor and supervise student common areas such as hallways, cafeterias, and playgrounds by physical inspection and monitor video surveillance.
- Conduct lunchroom walkthroughs at least once during each lunch period and monitor via video surveillance
- Conduct building walkthrough including hallways and bathrooms 3 times a day and monitor via video surveillance
- Promote school-community partnerships to enhance safety measures for students beyond school property (police surveillance, Neighborhood Watch programs) and other willing community organizations that can help.
- Monitor school visitors and implement a Visitor Management System. Require that visitors report to the main office, sign in, and wear visitor badges.
- Provide threat-assessment and risk-assessment procedures and teams for conducting them.
- Assist with Development/updating your school’s crisis plan and preparedness training. Such as School emergency plans, lockdowns, evacuations, parent-student reunification procedures, and emergency communications protocols.
- Create a safe, supportive school climate that provides school-wide behavioral expectations, caring school climate programs, positive interventions and supports, psychological and counseling services, and violence prevention programs.
- Encourage students to take responsibility for their part in maintaining safe school environments.
- Provide students with access to anonymous reporting systems (student hot lines, “suggestion” boxes, “tell an adult” campaigns).
- In collaboration with the Facilities Manager institute strict procedures for key control and develop a plan to assign the responsibility for locking and unlocking the school to specific individuals upon their absence. Create a system to track and document school keys.
- Keep unoccupied rooms and spaces locked when not in use. Ensure all classrooms are locked at the end of each day.
- Ensure that all classrooms, including portable and temporary classrooms, have two-way communication with the office.
- Support front desk with answering phones as needed.
- Support with immediate first aid such as providing bandaids, ice packs and incident reports as needed
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with educators, students, and parents
- Problem-solving skills to address any issues or challenges that may arise in the lunchroom
- High school diploma/GED
- Bilingual (Spanish) required

Pay: $50,000.00 per year
