- This position is posted as **Director of Clery Compliance**, which is a working title. The NAU system title for this position is **Police Program Director**.
- This position could occasionally, but not routinely, engage in remote work when the tasks at hand, allow for such work.

The NAU Director of Clery Compliance works collaboratively with various offices at the University to ensure the institution's compliance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and associated regulations. Serves as the institution's designated "Campus Safety Survey Administrator," as defined in U.S. Department of Education correspondence.

Compilation, classification and publication of crimes and disciplinary referral data - 35%
- Ensures compliance with the daily crime and fire log requirements.
- Gathers crime and disciplinary referral data from various internal and external sources, such as the Dean of Students, Extended Campuses, and appropriate law enforcement agencies.
- Prepares, publishes, and distributes the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report for each defined separate campus.
- Ensures notices announcing the availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report are properly developed and available to prospective students and prospective employees.
- Works with the NAU Police Department Records Division to ensure proper classification and count of crime incident reports.
- Submits annual crime statistics to the U.S. Department of Education, as required.

Coordinates the institution’s Clery Act compliance program and develops Clery compliance policies and procedures - 25%
- In conjunction with the applicable offices, develops and implements Clery Act required policies, programs, and activities.
- Establishes Clery Act compliance programs at each separate campus.
- Ensures the institution maintains accurate records on security awareness and crime prevention programs and presentations.
- Collaborates with the Dean of Students and/or Human Resources when needed to ensure compliance with the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act regulations.
- Stays abreast of pending and final changes to the Clery Act and other laws or regulations affecting Clery Act provisions.
- Works with various institutional offices to ensure compliance with the provisions of the Violence Against Women Act.
- Coordinates with Contracting and Purchasing office to maintain an accurate list of buildings and properties owned and/or controlled by the institution.
- Coordinates with the appropriate campus departments to ensure compliance with HEA Fire Safety regulations.

Identifies and trains all Campus Security Authorities and institutional stakeholders on Clery Act Requirements - 20%
- Works with the appropriate University Departments to identify all Campus Security Authorities for the institution and maintains a list of them for each year.
- Provides, facilitates, or manages the training of Campus Security Authorities.
- Coordinates with all Campus Security Authorities to ensure the timely receipt of all crime statistic data.

Ensures compliance with Emergency Notification and Timely Warning requirements of the Clery Act - 10%
- Collaborates with the Office of Emergency Management and Office of Public Relations to ensure compliance with the Emergency Notification and Timely Warning requirements of the Clery Act.

Compliance and Reporting - 5%
- Prepare and complete analytical and statistical reports and memos as required for accreditation compliance and reporting purposes.

Other - 5%
- Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, Law or another related field AND
- Three years of experience with Clery Act compliance, other federal act compliance, and/or public service-related accreditation processes.
- Possession of valid Arizona Class D driver’s license upon employment.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Master's degree or other advanced degree in Communications, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, Law or another related field.
- Experience with drafting and publishing an Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.
- Advanced Clery Act Training.
- Familiarization with other related topics to include but not limited to Title IX, VAWA, Uniform Crime Reporting, and the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Regulations.
- Three years or more of work experience with an institution of Higher Education.

- Administrative skills, including data analysis and accurate reporting of data and information in an unbiased manner; and the ab
