**PURPOSE**:
The Pre-Op RN demonstrates clinical expertise and compassionate care for all patients in the clinic. In this role you will ensure the procedure team flows efficiently for cases involving anesthesia.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES**:
**Responsible for Patient Care**
- Assess patient status throughout the episode of care.
- Obtain vitals & verify patient identity.
- IV placement and removal as necessary.
- Provide hand-off report to other teammates that are accurate and pertinent to the patient’s condition and response to care.
- Monitors surgical patients through pre-surgical and post anesthesia recovery period through regular contract and assessment.
- Educate patients and their support system regarding their treatment plan.
- Coordinate and execute an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

**Responsible for Operational Efficiency and Safety**
- Confirm patient name and date of birth, medical history, allergies, and other vital data.
- Provide patient chart to the physician

**Responsible for Carrying out Physician Orders**
- Monitor each patient chart after each visit
- Ensure that the physician’s orders are carried out in a timely manner
- Track all orders being carried out
- Enter imaging orders
- Enter procedure orders
- Enter physical therapy orders
- Arrange referrals and discuss with Lead Medical Assistant as needed

**Responsible for Documentation**
- Maintains medical records in an accurate and legible manner
- Import all scanned documents into the appropriate charts
- Maintains EHR.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
