- Job Description
- I. Major Responsibilities:
- 1. Assesses and obtain a patients basic health status, records, and related data according to standard procedure and needs of patient and their families.- 2. Administers medications, performs treatment as ordered, and operates equipment according to policy and procedure.- 3. Performs venipuncture using aseptic technique, 12 lead EKGs, and administers vaccinations.- 4. Participates in implementation and evaluation of care plan including long and short-term goals, nursing actions, and teaching.- 5. Documents patient care according to standard procedure. Records and reports observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient condition to Provider and/or RN and assists in analyzing and interpreting patient data.- 6.Assists provider with treatments, procedures, and special tests as required or directed.- 7. Communicates with patients via electronic, telephonic, and in person, per scope of practice.- 8. Collaborates with other health care providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.- 9. Maintains a safe environment.II. Position Qualifications:

- 1. Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.- 2. Current Massachusetts licensure required.- 3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Experience/Skills:

- 1. Knowledge of basic nursing procedures.- 2.
